Respiratory therapist

 What is Respiratory therapy?

Those students who study Respiratory therapy are called Respiratory therapists.

Respiratory therapists (RT) are an essential part of the medical team.

They work in hospitals, clinics, and other healthcare settings to help people with respiratory (lung) problems, basically to make them breathe better when they have difficulty breathing.

In other words, it's a field of treating individuals to optimize their lung function, breath better, and improve their overall quality of life with their underlying disease condition.

RT helps physicians to diagnose, monitor, and treat conditions that affect the lungs and other organs related to the lung of patients in all age groups.

The treatment plan includes a combination of treatments, education, and exercise programs to breathe and improve their quality of life.

They can work in both long-term care (chronic) and short-term (acute) lung conditions, critical care, neonatal-pediatrics care, pulmonary rehabilitation, or polysomnography units in healthcare facilities and as a part of a health care team.
